Bitter Cold

Our weather is going to become colder than it has been for at least 10 years. I did all of my outside errands today with the hopes of NOT having to go out again the next few days. I had to get all the party items for the baby. They are in Europe for a vacation and I haven't seen her for almost a week. I miss her and can't wait to get to see her, hopefully on Friday. So, for tonight I plan on sitting in front of the TV and knitting. That is what I did last night and I watched 2 hours of 24. I thought it was pretty good, even though I have only seen maybe a years worth of shows so far. Keifer Sutherland just YELLS too much, in my opinion. Speak softly and carry a big stick Jack.
Whenever I know I am going to sit in front of the tube, I go on line and check out what will be on. We have basic cable. I don't know how many channels that includes, but it is rare that there is anything worth while on any of those channels. I could really go back to no cable myself. My husband couldn't because of sports, but most of what I watch is on the networks that have been on since I was a child. NBC, CBS and ABC. Tonight the only thing I saw to watch is American Idol. It is never all that interesting in the beginning, but since there isn't anything else on, I guess I'll watch it. Maybe Simon will say "What the bloody HELL was THAT?" That is my favorite line of his.
The knitting needles await me.

I hope the weather doesn't impact your ability to see "baby". We had to survive three weeks of artic weather and everything came to a complete stop. From what I've seen of the weather on the national news, it doesn't look good for most people.

Well heck, cold cold cold..hope you enjoy your cozy night at home knitting in front of the telly.

I'm glad you mentioned American Idol, as I didn't realize it was starting tonight and I agree, boring in the beginning. I think the second night of Superstars of dance is on tonight again so will go back and forth.

my night, ...well I'm tired, I raked up tons and tons of leaves as did Mike. We created a huge load for the green waste trash. It's looking good but if we get any more santa ana winds tonight which I don't think they are forecasted, all of it will have been for nothing.

I bet you do miss Maddie. A European vacation, how wonderful!

We are having very COLD weather also today and we are to get 4-6 inches of snow tonight and tomorrow. We went shopping today and are ready for a few wintry days.

I am setting here with "American Idol" on. I don't find it very interesting either. I don't know why they allow some of those contestants appear on TV. I think the ones who interview them ahead of time do it for a joke, so Simon can make some of his sarcastic comments. I am getting sick of his rude comments.

The worse in 10 years they say. I am not looking forward to the next few days. We don't even have the snow others have.

I have to find out more about those winds. It sounds like just the trees were bad, not the house? Sure hope not. I am going to go check the weather in a minute.

I know a family that had their daughter try out for Idol and she said it is grueling, the things you have to go through. I have wondered the same thing about why they make fun of the ones that obviously can't sing. I think that most of those kids just act that way to get on TV, because they turn down a lot of talented ones and then let the goofy ones on. It is all part of the show I guess. I am getting used to Simon. I have watched it for the past 2 or 3 years. But I don't watch it every time just sometimes when I can catch it.

It is so stinking cold here. I left my daughter's tonight about 25 miles from my house and it was 2 degrees. It's down right balmy at 12 degrees near my home. Cccccold. My toes are chilled despite my wool. Keep warm-maybe your shawl will get there soon enough to keep you warm.

I am keeping well snug in my house... we've been experiencing -25C to -36C this week... Tonight it is supposed to get even colder! YIKES! I am supposed to venture out to my Wednesday night quilt gathering.. hmmm? May have to rethink that!
Clifford is 15!! Wow! That is a ripe old age for a fur-friend!!! 8-)
I hope all goes well with Maddie's B-Day on Saturday!!!

Hi Brenda,

Our bitter cold is to arrive tonight (Wednesday) and Thursday will be brutally cold, but by Friday, things will moderate. So, it won't be too bad in the Southern part of our state. I'm going to the Chinese Buffet today, as usual. We have no snow, thank goodness.

I never watch Idol, but my daughter is a big fan of it. I have Direct TV, and have a lot to chose from, but usually stick to familiar shows.

Stay warm and enjoy your knitting.

I bet you are missing them. If they've been in London it's been cold there too but I think it's OK at the moment. We've been very lucky temperatures here are in the forties and today was a beautiful sunny one.

I tend to watch either BBC or the ITV Drama channel. There are some quite good programmes on at the moment new dramas and Larkrise to Candleford has started again. I've been enjoying watching Jeeves and Wooster, Poirot and my usual Diagnosis Murder even though it's a bit corny. Tonight I missed Father Ted which I know is rather naughty but I love it.

Did you get to look at the Sock videos on You Tube? There are four lessons, I watched the first and it looks good. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=9NQMGCo_mXY

Might as well enjoy the bad weather by hibernating.

-30 C = -22F, that's how cold tomorrow's wake up temp is going to be here...how cold is it in your neck of the woods? I sure wish I could run away with Rudee...ciao

That sounds way too cold for this West Coast, AZ woman. Love the picture of that old TV. I remember growing up with one of those. You must be so anxious to see your grand baby

I have not seen any eps of "24". Typically, I don't watch those types of show, preferring light-hearted fare (it wasn't always that way). I've seen every American Idol season since the 2nd one and sometimes I just fast-forward through the judges bit - mind you, it seems Simon is the only one who really cuts to the chase, but he's so arrogant with it that I tune out.
I still have not got those knitting needles clicking, Brenda - you're way ahead of me.
