Have A Nice Sunday

The clouds have been very pretty this year. Or maybe I have just been noticing them more.
I woke up at 3 am this morning with some indigestion, and generally log onto the computer when I can't sleep, because it is a quiet activity. I started a diet the past couple of days. Giving up sugar will be a challenge. I think I can make it though. The first few days I always feel grumpy and wonder..."What was I thinking?"........
I think I finally have come to accept though that I will feel so much better when I am several pounds lighter. I will be able to run faster
when needed to catch up with my little grand daughter.

Hey Brenda!

Fancy seeing you on here so early. I am up early because I have so much to do before church and lunch and stuff. Plus, I slept so lousy. We had big thunderstorms that began at 11 PM. Lost power here for a few hours. Lots of rain, which we needed. Thank goodness the power is back. I think we are to be cloudy today.

Funny, you have Mashable on your blog roll! I have him on Twitter.

You can substitute splenda for sugar. Tastes just like it with no carbs in it. That's what I do.

I was wondering that too about the clouds. Maybe we are spending more time standing and staring like when we were children. Though then it used to be lying on the grass looking up.

It's awful when you can't sleep. I used to have that problem sometimes when I worked. I would get something on my mind and I just couldn't shift it. I used to read or watch telly. Now I rarely have a problem but I never go to bed before midnight just in case!

Hope your cutting down goes well. Over the years I gradually dropped sugar. It was hard leaving it out of coffee but eventually I managed it. I just couldn't use any of the substitutes. Now I don't know what I can cut back on to lose weight. Probably cheese is the only thing left but you have to have some pleasures in life though.

I've slept the sleep of the dead this weekend. I got a solid 8 hours both Friday and Saturday nights. I think it was the Blue Moon, but in my opinion, I needed it.

Good luck on the diet. I was just thinking I need to do the same thing, then I promptly ate a piece of cherry pie. Sheesh.

I see I'm not the only one who has long nights and lazy days. I hate insomnia. Two nights this past week I was awake until 4 a.m.

Changing our way of eating is alway more difficult the first two weeks, at least, that is what I have always found. So hang in there and it will soon become a way of life. And you will never miss sugar.

Sugar isn't my problem, food is my problem, I love food. hee, hee!
Sugar I can take it or leave it. I use saccharine.

Back in 1982 when I joined Weight Watchers, (for the first time) I learned to use saccharine in place of sugar, I got use to using it in my tea and never went back to sugar. My biggest problem is portion size, just can't seem to be satisfied with the proper portion sizes.

And the second problem for me is exercising, I just can't seem to get into it anymore. I use to walk 2 miles almost everyday, but don't do it anymore. ;(

I am the same way with all that you said. The metabolism stopped cooperating for me at age 39. Exercise took a back seat also when my knees and ankles aged...or whatever happened to them. Needing to do things and actually doing them are difficult for me.

Oh Good luck with that Brenda! I would hate to have to give up sugar... but would feel much better I'm sure if I lost some weight.
Computer time is best in the early morning hours.

Ohhh good luck on giving up sugar. I use to eat lots of it, but rarely do any more.

I do all the cooking and so on nowadays. My wife has to go on a low-sugar and low-fat diet and it is difficult to manage such a change - but it will be done! Good luck with your own diet.
