Before Our Time

Before Our Time
is a blog by Alison and Megan, two Australian Gen-X women with a love of technology and all the comforts of a 21st Century life,
but does it make their lives any simpler than that of their forebears?
Revel in the dodgy research and the use of their families as guinea pigs as they examine the skills and knowledge of the pre-1970 world.

Alison and Megan always have something interesting going on over at their blog. I really enjoy all the topics they come up with. It is a little like "time traveling". They are having a give away to win this beautiful scarf. They have also given 2 links to ladies who sell their homemade items.
I love that making things handmade is so popular right now. I keep wanting to checkout the etsy shops, when I have time. The internet is so full of interesting things to search for, it is no wonder that I spend so much time on here. Hope you go check out Megan and Alison. And Thanks to Ann for recommending them to me!

What Would you Do?

I was watching "Dancing With The Stars" last night and a show comes on after it called "What Would You Do?" I saw it for the first time last week and thought it was kind of interesting. They showed a few "staged" situations to see how people would react. Two situations were staged to see if others would come to the aid of someone that needed help, like a person getting beat up just because he was a certain race. Another staged situation was a 15 year old woman being forced to marry some old man in a religious cult. They were at a restaurant discussing the situation and this show , "What Would You Do" was trying to see if anyone would help her go to the police or just ignore the situation. I guess since this was the first time I had ever seen the show, I found it interesting. This week, it shocked and baffled me. I won't be watching it anymore. I cannot believe that there are THAT many people in the world that would just go along with certain situations, and can't think for themselves. They staged this situation where a "fake badged " man asked a woman to put a drug in someone's drink that he was trying to capture, because she was suppose to have stolen her child from her ex-husband or the father of the child. I think that was the situation...I may be a little off in my story. The point is......How can anyone be that naive or stupid, to follow instructions from a complete stranger!!!!! That is really scary to think there are so many people walking around that could be talked into these situations so easily.
Aside from that shocking revelation, Dancing With the Stars was entertaining. I never seem to know very many of the stars, but I enjoy watching dancing in general. Some day I would like to go see those cloggers, I think they are called The Lord Of The Rings... in person.
I have been cleaning the house today and will tomorrow and Friday. I am so behind around here on things that need some attention. This weekend I hear we may get snow. Just when everything is blooming and looking like Spring! Typical though for Missouri!

Quilt Show

Sunday I went to a local Quilt Show. I thought I was not going to be able to go this year, but decided at the last minute to go for one hour. I had stubbed my toe that morning and also had a migraine headache, but somehow made it through the day. Excedrin Migraine works pretty good if you catch it in time before it gets too bad. That morning I didn't know my toe was broke and walked around the show. Later that day, it became obvious. It was swollen and black and blue. Fortunately it was the middle toe so not much pressure is being put on it. One year I broke three toes and went to the emergency room and sat there for 4 hours only to have the doctor tell me they don't do anything for broken toes.

Anyway, aren't these quilts beautiful!
You really have to double click on the pictures to see the stitching.

I know there are a lot of pictures, and if you don't have time now, you can always come back and look at them again. I usually walk through these shows pretty quickly, but enjoy looking at all the pictures on the computer. Years ago when I didn't have a digital camera, I used to spend a small fortune on film and developing. I must have thousands of pictures from Quilt Shows.

Splish Splash .....I Was Taking A Bath

I know you may not be able to see them in this picture but hopefully you can make some of the other pictures out. Maddie and I had a real treat today. Two ducks came to visit! I ran and got the camera and took about 20 pictures just hoping for a few good ones. If I had opened the door to get a shot they would have left so I had to try to take the pictures inside. I was surprised how long they stayed. I thought maybe they were really hungry and when I opened the door to throw out some food they left immediately. It was fun to get to see them though.

It looked like they were walking on a water bed.

FOUND

Today I found these billy goats wandering around in the hot sun. I thought maybe I would sheer them since they looked so hot. I now have a large pile of wool that I may try to make use of. Please don't judge me...I am an 8 year old having to live in a 58 year old body. I also broke my toe today and have been on pain pills.
