Priceless Little Book

Today we went to the Book Fair and I found this book as we were leaving. My daughter and I were laughing so hard we were crying at some of these sayings. So I thought I would try and share some of them on the blog. I am not sure if the scanned in pages will show up well enough to read. If not I can type them in another time.

This book was published in 1975, so many of these quotes are from children that are now Grand parents. That makes it even funnier!

If you click to enlarge them, they can be read. I was lazy about typing them out.

Thick Sharp Plastic

Today's journal is just about a pet peeve I have. That blasted thick sharp plastic that items you purchase are wrapped so TIGHTLY in there is so little space in between the item and and it to insert a knife or sharp object of some sort to get the blasted thing off of the item you purchased!!!!!!!!!!! I think these things are DANGEROUS! How many times have I cut myself on these stupid things. And why are they even on items that they don't really need to be on. My latest purchase was a cup like the picture above. The cup is already plastic. Most toys now come with so many difficultly wrapped plastic it takes forever to remove it and I think it is also bad for the environment. I think I am going to spend some time finding out who to complain to. Maybe I will start with some famous people like movie stars and singers. They can host an event to "Stop the Madness. " I may even write to the President. I am sure that he can make time to listen to this very important concern I have in between Korea threatening us.
Sorry for the rant...these little things just drive me over the edge.

SSHHSS...Don't Tell.......

Here I am playing around with my husband's Mac computer.
He has lots of work stuff on there and I usually don't want to mess with it.
I couldn't resist playing with Photo Booth though yesterday.

Me being Greta Garbo....I Vant To Be Alone....

Oh Crap!!!!......I am Time Traveling......

Get Me Out Of This Fish Tank!!!!!

I am starting to look like them!

I didn't mean throw me up in the clouds!!!!

I am a light bulb.

I am so embarrassed my face is turning red.

This was a really different experience for me. I really do not like having my picture taken and never have. When I was little and used to have school photos taken I was famous for throwing them away or tearing them up. I have matured now, and simply delete them off of the digital camera. So for me to post these is a sign of some kind of maturity, although I do not know of what type.
Perhaps it is that I have become more immature in that... I just don't care any more. My goal in life now is to simply have fun!

Another Little Game

I have often thought about the people I have gotten to know that I blog with. Some of you I know maybe a little more than others. A few of you I have talked to on the telephone or have seen a photo of you here and there, but many of you I know very little about. I think that is the nice thing about blogging. We can express our thoughts whenever we feel like it or have time to do so, and eventually we build up a sidebar of people we visit on a regular basis. My sidebar of bloggers are people who have left me comments more than a couple of times. That way I know you enjoy reading my stories and rants enough to leave a comment, and I in turn visit you and enjoy whatever is going on in your world.
So, with that being said, I would like to try and guess your heights. Please don't feel like you have to reveal what your real height is if you don't want to. You can maybe just tell me if I came close or not close at all. You can also try and guess my height if you like and I will tell you if you are correct. I don't mind.

So here goes:

Sandy 5' 11"

Betty 5' 5"

Rudee 5' 6"

BJ 5' 5"

Renie 5' 2"

Flydragon 5"4"

Winifred 5' 7"

Myra 5' 6"

Reader Wil 5'8"

Kat 5'4"

Abe 5'9"

Patty 5'7"

Fritzy 5' 5"

Laura 5' 10"

CC 5' 7"

Mary 5' 8"

Ann 5' 6"

Rosita 5' 11"

Lily 5' 5"

Delphine 5' 6"

I looked up what the average height is for US and according to wikipedia it was 5' 4".
Of course many of you are not from the US and there were different average heights for every country.

So how did I do?

Next Time I Will Make It Harder....and some more flowers.

Well, my guessing game was too easy. You all nailed it, so next time I decide to do something like that, I will have to make it really hard. I guess I don't blog with any dummies...hahaha. I thought it would be hard to find Clifford, and I did some photo editing on the mold, but I guess they were both more obvious than I thought. I was very tired, and have been for a few weeks. Maybe a little more tired than usual. This time of year always brings about more outside work to do and I find the older I get, I just can't fly through all my chores like I did when I was younger. The inside work piles up also. I need to do a time management for myself so that I can fit everything into my daily life that I would like to accomplish. I have also been clumsy again. Yesterday I dropped a bar of soap on my foot and thought I broke a toe on the other foot. I had broken 3 toes not long ago, but I think it was the small bones, because I have not had to stop doing anything because of it. They swelled and turned black and blue and I still have pain. I told my husband I think I could trip over a four leaf clover and break something. I do go on and on sometimes, and leave anyone that reads my blog with an impression of me as a stumbling bumbling old broad, but actually I am not that bad. I just like to put my own spin on my stories.
However, if any of you happen to be passing through my area and see a wandering, hobbling woman that has a foggy memory, pull over and assist me please. When I forget to eat, which I do, every so often, my blood sugar must drop and I can not think properly. I did that the other day and had only a small bowl of cereal in the morning and then nothing until I had to take Clifford to the vet at 3 pm and since he had to go to a new vet, they asked me a million questions, and I had trouble answering most of them. One was "What kind of food does he eat?" I stammered and stumbled around trying to remember, and finally when the tech looked at me like "I must be talking to someone with some mental disability"....I had to confess to her that I had forgot to eat lunch and must be having a drop in sugar. They offered me a candy bar, but I declined, and managed to get more angry than faint. I had to wait in the office for 2 1/2 hours because they were so busy.....grrrrr. Life has its moments sometimes!

These flags have really multiplied in our back yard this year. I had to take a photo because they have never been this full. We may have to move a few later.

The hydrangea my daughter and son-in-law gave me for Mother's Day was successfully transplanted in a pot outside and has survived so far. I love love these, but have had some trouble growing them in the past. Our neighbor across the street has good luck with them. I think our soil has too much clay in it, so for now perhaps it will be okay in the pot.

These lilies come back every year in some pots we leave out over the winter. The stargazer lily at the beginning of this post was a gift from my husband that I transplanted out in a pot, but it does not look good right now at all. Because it is a bulb, I am hoping that it will recover, if not this year then next.

So, here is the picture of the weeping willow tree we had removed a few years back because of the ice storm. We have not taken the stump out and may not because of where it is located. I cropped a part of it for the guessing game and then over saturated it in Picasa. But I could not fool any of you! I actually liked the colors the saturation revealed.

And here is the close up of Clifford looking at me as I was outside the fence taking the other photos.

I think I may need to improve on my imagination somewhat. I try not to take myself too seriously but I would like to be a little more creative in the imagination area. How about you....are you creative?
