Busy Week..............

We had 6 rooms painted this past week and finally it is finished. It was great to have someone else do the work, but the whole house seemed a disaster. I couldn't find anything because things had to be shoved here and there to be out of the way. Maybe someday I will take pictures when it all gets put back together. We want to have some of our daughters photos framed to replace the prints we had up previously. I also think we will not put out a lot of the other decor we had. Funny how just painting spruces things up and makes you want to change so many other things, like furniture and junky things that sat around before. I am somewhat of a packrat and have lots of things I haven't been able to part with, but if we sell this house and downsize to a smaller place then there will be no choice. Some things will just have to leave. We haven't done much in the way of decorating for the past 20 to 30 years so many things are very outdated. I was so glad to see the black flowered wallpaper in the bathroom get ripped off and freshly painted. It feels like we are living in a new house.
Nothing much witty or clever to talk about right now. No clumsy accidents of mine to report. I managed to not trip over any paint cans or ladders or break any bones. Just wanted to put up a little something to recall the past week. Have a great Sunday!

Play Ball!

There are times when I really wish that I were a sports fan. Today would be one of those days. The All Star Baseball Game is hosted here tonight in our city. Lots of exciting things going on in St. Louis. Roads being closed, hotels being filled, movie stars, famous music artists, parties everywhere. Red carpet lining the streets. President Obama will be throwing out the first pitch. FBI security everywhere!!! I am sure there are thousands of people that are down town taking lots of photos, and really having a festive time.
And then there's me. I really dislike crowds and traffic and I just don't have it in me to be a sports minded person. I tried a few years to be a baseball fan, but after just a few short years discovered I didn't have what it took to be a "True Fan". I found myself getting a little too upset when they didn't play well. Screaming... throwing things and angry looks on my face happened all too often. I said mean things to the TV...like "An old person in a wheel chair could play better than you!" I didn't like myself this way. Real fans stick with their team no matter what...for YEARS. Like my husband and son and many other friends and family members.
Aside from all the excitement in our city, what I am doing today and yesterday is sitting around trying to stay out the way of the painters that are in our house. We are having 6 rooms worked on and I have Clifford on a leash to keep him and myself out of the way. I feel extremely blessed to have people more qualified than I am to be doing all of this work.

Have A Nice Sunday

The clouds have been very pretty this year. Or maybe I have just been noticing them more.
I woke up at 3 am this morning with some indigestion, and generally log onto the computer when I can't sleep, because it is a quiet activity. I started a diet the past couple of days. Giving up sugar will be a challenge. I think I can make it though. The first few days I always feel grumpy and wonder..."What was I thinking?"........
I think I finally have come to accept though that I will feel so much better when I am several pounds lighter. I will be able to run faster
when needed to catch up with my little grand daughter.
Have a great Sundae...I meant Sunday!
