Nice Day Today....

Bob is the Director of a Golf Tournament for charity once a year and I help out by picking up the trophies, signs and just helping in any way I can. On the day of the tournament I sit nearby a hole to verify if someone gets a hole in one. The last time I did this I sat with others and we passed the time with conversation. This year I was by myself, so I took in the beauty of nature and recalled a few of the simple things I used to do when I was a young girl.

Like playing hide and seek...behind trees.

Looking for a four leaf clover.

Spying on people.

Watching a red tail squirrel.
I really did pay attention to the golfers also.
And I also called at least 5 people on my cell phone.
Pleasant day...doing simple things...and catching up with some friends I hadn't talk to for awhile.
May try to plan a trip to Arizona to see my friend whom I have known for 25 years.
If I can find several hundred dollars lying around somewhere that is.

Found A New Magazine ...

On our last trip to the bookstore, I came across this magazine and found it very interesting. The articles are short yet very informative, with a wide range of topics. So far I have read about the new technology using smart grids. Smart grids have been described as the Internet for electricity: a surge of new technology that will transform the way we use energy, making it greener, cheaper and more reliable, for the next generation.
I haven't made my way through the Cosmic Katrina article yet, but it sounds like a solar storm that could wipe out our electrical power. A little odd that both of these articles are in this issue. On the one hand the grid technology is trying to improve our planet and then along comes the cosmic Katrina destroying it. But like I said I have not read the article yet, so that was an assumption on my part.
The thing about this magazine that really captured my attention was its design. For some reason I have noticed products with certain colors and designs that are pleasant to me personally. It started about a year ago, oddly enough in the shower. I noticed how much I liked the colors on the Pantene bottle of shampoo. They were clear, crisp and simple, but at the same time gave a wow factor when I looked at it. I caught myself wondering what it would be like to be on the committee that decides what design and color to use. Of course things like that are all a matter of personal taste and we all have different tastes in colors and designs.
This magazine is like viewing the most pleasant blog I could view. The layout on each page, and the pictures are as good or better than National Geographic. It also has very little advertisement and only costs $5.99. I had stopped buying Home Decorating magazines several years ago, because of the huge ads.
Isn't it funny how.. no matter what our age... we just never want to stop learning. I think I have found that the older I get, the more I realize how little I know. There is just too much to learn!

If you grew up in the 60's, you will remember this....

I don't always do much "you tube searching" so I rarely have any on my blog. Hearing that Ted Kennedy passed away, caused me to remember his eulogy speech at Bobby's funeral and I found this one.

I don't have time to do a long.. thought filled... journal post about him, but just wanted to say a little something about his passing. I thought he was great at delivering speeches.

Days 3 and 4

One of these days I will add a sidebar on my progress with the exercise and eating better program...but for now I will just have to write a few thoughts out here. I have been really busy with some fund raisers and meetings coming up. I have however been sticking with the yoga, and it gets a little better each time. I now know why being "fat roll free" is so important with yoga. The fat gets in the way of doing the poses. But just that alone is enough to keep me motivated to continue on. The diet is fine...or should I say life style change. It really is not a diet. I hope to see some lower blood pressure readings in a few months.
I also got a new computer a week ago, and have been trying to learn how to use it. I have 2 testing blogs going on also...just there for me to practice trying to get some new templates. Once I get the hang of it without losing anything I have on this blog, I will be changing this one. I feel that I have become a blogging drop out...some days. Time spent doing other things has really slowed me down. Hope to get a little more creative soon!
