Sounds like?

video

Our daughter has met some Moms through a group on the computer that all have babies the same age. She has been able to meet a few of them face to face, and just got back from DC where she met one of the Moms. Bob and I asked her if they seem different when you actually meet them in person. She said ....Not really, because after a couple of years of reading updates about their daily or weekly lives you feel like you really know them, and you see pictures of most of them. The one thing that is usually lacking though on the Internet social world is a voice to connect with the person. I have made a lame attempt at video taping myself, talking dribble....but hopefully you get an idea of what my voice sounds like. I think when I read a book I imagine in my mind what the character looks like and sounds like...to me. I doubt if most people would agree on the same images and sounds. So here is my little experiment. Did you think my voice would sound like this? Ha....be honest!

PS Sorry for the crazy view....the sun was so bright I really couldn't see what I was doing. Loved the sun today though!!!!!

The three-legged print is a rabbit. One print may be a cat, sometimes they try to walk in the same print of their other foot so they don't get as much snow on their feet.

Gail,
Cool! Thanks!

I forgot to say you sound like a gentle woman, refined, with a very slight accent, can't put my finger on it...not completely South but not North either.

Gail,
My family is from the bootheel of Missouri. Dexter, Malden, Caruthersville....all of those areas. I cover my accent pretty well....don't cha think? Ha

Ha!I liked your audio/video, Brenda. You sound like a city gal to me. I have met people from the bothheel and you certainly do cover your accent, if you still have one.

Of course, I never think that I still have a Hungarian accent, but other people do! And Eileen has a distinct New York accent.

We got up to 45 with sunshine, today, and 50s will be here by Thursday. Yay! Getting my shorts out. Yeah, right!

Hugs,

Renie

This was a cool idea! No, you didn't sound like I thought you would - but I don't know what I expected. I agree that you sound gentle & just slightly like a yankee (says the NC girl LOL).

Well that was fun Brenda. I actually feel that your voice goes with your pic and it all felt real comfortable to me like we've talked before.

anyway, take care...thanks for sharing your "voice"...does make one feel like they know you better.

You have a very nice voice Brenda. You are right, one never knows that a person sounds like just from a photo.I have a blogger friend in Athens who has become a good friend and the first time I met her and heard her voice it was totally so not what I expected. Her photo was also not available on her blog. Now when she phones me and says "Hi", I know right away who it is. You get snow in Missouri, wow...ciao

Darn. It wouldn't play for me, but I think it's just my laptop. I'll try again later.

I LOVE your voice!!! Is it o.k. to tell you it's been in the 70's until the last couple of days!

Thanks everyone! You should all try this so I can hear your voices. Betty...I just got a funny email from my friend in Arizona about weather. She told me to unfreeze my Missouri a** and fly out there.

Hey Brenda! Kewl idea! You don't sound at all how I expected...But then, I didn't know what to expect! 8-)
I was watching a little video from Christmas and didn't even recognize my own voice for a bit... lol! Sadly, I sound like a little kid. When we were first married people used to ask to speak with my daddy, when they meant my hubby... 8-(

Hi Brenda! Very nice to hear your voice! Actually we should all do that once in a while. What a great idea of your daughter to meet other mothers of babies. Thanks for sharing this post.

I loved the idea of hearing your voice. It was a lovely voice. I really don't know what i expected you to sound like.

I have posted a few short videos which contained my voice. I have a twang, from the area I grew up in, and when I listen to myself, I don't like the sound of my voice. On my redneck truck video, I sounded like I was out of breath. I guess that is telling me I need to loose some of this excess fat, so I can breath again. ; )

I just listened to this again to see the latest comments and I think I need to call Professor Higgins from My Fair Lady to give me some speech lessons. I sound like I have a mouth full of marbles every once in a while. Oh geez...what an experiment that was! Ha..
