Nesting

Is it possible for a Granny to nest before her daughter gives birth?  I had one day last week that felt like that.  I cleaned the basement, did 8 loads of wash, ironed for 2 hours, mowed the lawn, brought up some baby items from storage and washed them, vacuumed and cleaned 2 bathrooms.  I haven't felt well since that day.  Just kidding.  I slept like a baby last night, for the first time in a very long time.  Today is Katy's due date and we had supper here.  I made chicken and dumplings, corn on the cob, broccoli, cauliflower and carrots in a mushroom cheese sauce, Hawaiian sweet rolls.  For dessert we had angel food cake (store bought) with strawberries and whipped cream.  Today would have been a meaningful day for her to be born because it would have been Clifford's 16th birthday today.  He passed away last July.  112  years in dog years, I think, would have been too many doggy biscuits for his birthday cake.  He gave us many years of wonderful memories.  Miss you Cliffie!  But....can not wait to meet our new little grand daughter.  I still think she will  have dark hair........

What an exciting time to look forward to, a new grandchild.

I used to always get a spurt of energy each Spring and give the house a good cleaning. Haven't had that urge for a few years, I guess this getting older has slowed me down some.

I think you were definitely feel "nesty". And I think it would be perfectly normal, too. Women are very in-tune with each other.

Keep us posted!

Yes, I think you're nesting. I can't believe it's her due date already! That sure went fast (though I'm certain it seems like forever for all of you--especially, Katy).

I don't suppose you can nest at my house?

Keep us posted on the baby!

Oh you must be dying. I would be. We just had a great niece born tonight! Her name is Evangeline.

I work like that when I'm nervous or mad. :)

You have much to look forward to, Brenda. We have just four grandchildren and what we are hoping for is a great-grandchild one day. What a bonus that would be.

By the way, when you get a spare hour or two could you pop over and tidy our little cottage up a bit? Shouldn't take too long.

There'd be a nice cuppa tea and a scone afterwards, or coffee perhaps?

Ann,
My spring cleaning may not get done this year. It didn't the last few years. I used to do the curtains, windows and all woodwork in the house. The high shelves and pulling our furniture...all those things you don't do weekly. I just can't keep up with all that anymore.

Jo,
Yes...I know what you mean about being "in tune". I wish I could predict the day. I thought I had and it went by. But sometimes you just get those strong feelings about things.

Wil,
Thanks! We are so excited!!!

Rudee,
I think it has gone by fast for all of us...even Katy. Although past your due date has got to be hard!

Dana,
Ha...love ya. I could come clean your office with you if we lived close by. I read that you have been putting that off. Sometimes you just need a little help getting started. At least I do. Usually something or someone has to push me in gear.

Ruth,
I love her name. Yes, cleaning is sometimes a great way to work off anger or stress. I try to avoid those two emotions though, the older I get. That may be why things pile up on me around here.

Philip,
Ha...sure thing. You should show us your cottage someday. I need to see what I am signing up for. It could be the size of the castle. Hope all are well at your place!

BJ,
Wow...so glad to see you here! Thanks for the well wishes. I am so excited, I can hardly sleep. Hugs to you also!

I use to get those spurts of energy a lot more often than what I do now. LOL Hope the new grandchild arrives soon. As for dogs, the oldest one we ever had, we had her for 22 years. That's one long time.

Ohhh is she born yet? Wow you did a lot. I've been going crazy here too, and my grandson Cole should be from here on out any day, she is due the 15th..

Your dinner sounds great. I would like to eat at your house. We've been on the go so much there has been no home cooked meal in two weeks here.
