On this day, I can't help recalling my favorite prank pulled off by myself and a few co-workers when I was a young woman, working at a Computer Company. It was a very small company that had 2 rooms. One was the front offices, for the President, Vice President and Secretary. Right outside those rooms with doors were cubicles for the engineers. The second room in the back was for the people who built the computers, which is where I worked. We assembled the entire computers in that room. The engineers would come back occasionally to see how we were doing and to test some of the circuit boards themselves. Back in the 70's smoking was still acceptable in the workplace. There were just 4 of us that built the computers, and we decided to choose the engineer that was visiting our area to test, at the time. He was a fairly serious sort of man and somewhat gullible at times....a perfect target for April Fools Day. One of my co-workers found a plastic tubing to run from his work area to the testing area where the engineer would put his board. Our plan was to blow smoke through the tube when he turned the testing device on and make him think it had shorted out or something. We anticipated all morning...when will he come back here...do we have everything in place....oh...here he comes! Get ready..... !! We went through several failed attempts to "get ready" to make it happen, because he either came back to get coffee or look for something and then walk away. Finally....he brings the board over to test. My co-worker lit his cigarette and blew the smoke through, at the same moment he started testing. He jumped back and started cussing.......WHAT THE BLANKITY BLANK.....and stood there scratching his head and looking really puzzled. We all tried to stifle our laughs until we couldn't take it anymore, and told him.... "APRIL FOOLS". He forgave us and had a little chuckle himself. I think that was the only prank I was ever involved in. I never really liked the ones in school where they put notes on everyone's back like "kick me"., etc. So immature. For my age, I am still very immature....oh well...

My days are crazy busy lately. It seems we have some place to go almost everyday and every evening. That is possibly an exaggeration...but that is how it feels. I would like to be a little more like the turtle and snail in the cartoon above for awhile.
I will get to spend every day with my little Maddie in April. Yesterday we went to the park and fed the ducks and the fish. We pretended like we were going on a Dora-type adventure at the park. We walked across a big wooden bridge and then on a shaky bridge where we had to be really "brave". She became brave enough to walk on it by herself after going with me the first time. These are all very safe things....I just try to make it a fun adventure for her. She loves pretending now, and is a real joy to be with.
Our weather has been wet but very Spring Like. Blooming flowers and lots of birds make for some fun adventures with my little grand daughter!
