Ready for a vacation.........

Oh jeez......they just changed the way blogger works.  I dislike learning new things.  Oh well...anyway....just posting my weekly post about how much I am looking forward to going to Des Moines for a Quilt Show in a couple of weeks.  (Why did spell check just tell me Moines is misspelled??)  Me and the hubby. What a guy!  He has been going with me to Quilt Shows for years now.  I keep saying that I will one day join a Quilt Guild and go with the ladies....but so far I haven't made the time for that.  The quilt above is applique.  Something I was learning about the time I stopped quilting some years ago.  I think this photo was taken at the last show I went to...but I am not sure.
We managed to get through the tenth anniversary of 9/11.  Bob had to fly to New Orleans for business yesterday morning and I really really did not want him to go.  He arrived fine and had no problems that I know of yet.  We were pulled over by the police as we were entering the airport.  Apparently he was in the wrong lane or something....we never could figure out what was going on.  The officer yelled at us to stop.  We did.  She said pop the trunk.  We did.  She said "What's in the box."  Bob said "Tee shirts"  She said "Have a nice day" and we pulled away.  I came home and watched a live news cast from that awful day 10 years ago.  It is still really hard to believe that something that horrible really happened.
On the up side of life....Kayla is now cracking us up because she is talking like a beatnik.  She started calling Katy "Mommy-o" over the weekend...and Daddy.....Daddy-o.  Then she started saying a lot of her words that way.  She reminds me of Maynard G Krebs  in Dobie Gillis.

Shoe be do..do..ba...do.....yeah!

That's hilarious about Kayla - too funny-o :)

Weird about being pulled over. Mike & I decided that the search that the ranger did on our car on 9/11 was just because he thought he needed to do SOMETHING.

Daddy-o! Kayla the beatnik. How cute!

Glad your Hubbie made it safely to Atlanta. I don't blame you for worrying.

I have the feeling that the world has become more suspicious since 911. Police officers are not polite anymore and very unkind in our big cities if you are about to enter an important building. Thanks for your comment on my blog. You are absolutely right!
I hope you'll have a great quilt show.
