No Quilt Show this year.....

I was not able to attend this year's Quilt Show in Kentucky...one that I have tried to go to for the past 20 plus years. The river was too high to have it at the location they usually have it...so they had to spread it out in various locations and I did not think I would be able to get to all of them in one day. It is rare that you can get a hotel room when the show is there. I heard that there were some people flooded out of their homes, so they needed a room more than we did anyway. So Bob and I went to the Botanical Gardens and took our time walking around. I was going to put some photos up but I have been having a lot of trouble loading photos on blogger for the past few weeks. Sometimes they come up but most of the time they don't. The photo that I did get to come up is of our hallway mirror and a reflection of a chair we have had for about 34 years. I watched the news finally as I was catching up on some ironing today. The tornado in Alabama was just awful. And the deaths of over 300 people so sad. The world has sure had some awful disasters from earthquakes, tsunamis, tornadoes and floods this past year. It makes missing a Quilt Show seem so trivial...

The Ugliest Hats I Have Ever Seen...

PRINCESS LETIZIA

Not this one of course.  This was the only pretty hat  I saw from the Royal Wedding.  We were gone all day and I came home to take a quick look on the internet so see whatever I could find about the wedding.  I think it was on People.com that I saw all of the hats.  What were they thinking?!?!?!?!  Those things looked dangerous!  I guess I just do not have the same taste in fashion as some folks.....

The bride and groom were beautiful!

After Wil's comment I looked for Princess Maxima at the Royal Wedding and found this photo.  I hope this is the right one. People.com didn't show all of the hats...apparently. And there were a few others I saw that were pretty.   Princess Maxima's  hat is beautiful and matches her outfit.  I also saw her wedding dress while I was looking and her dress was beautiful.  She has very good taste.  Thanks Wil for leaving the comment.  I always learn things when I visit Wil.

Rain....Floods......road closings..

I am glad that I got this photo of our dogwood tree before the rain waterlogged it....... and everything else.  I look forward to going to a Quilt Show in Paducah, Kentucky every year.  We were going to go on Friday.  The Convention Center where it is held is very close to the Ohio River and the water level has risen so much that they are not having it there this year.  The show is going to be going on, but it will be spread out in a few different locations.  I just don't think I want to go.  This weather is really bumming me out.......

Just having some fun...

I was going to do a blog post about all the beautiful weddings we have attended in the past 7 years....just because of the Royal wedding coming up this Friday....but I was unable to locate my photos.  It is unfortunate that I can not find them  because Royal wedding or not...we have attended  some really beautiful ones.  Our daughter and son-in-law's was very beautiful.  Now you would think that I would have those wouldn't you?  Well....I do... but they are not scanned into my computer....and I am too lazy to locate them right now.

While I was looking for them...I ran across these,  About a year ago, I got an iPhone and one of the first apps that I downloaded was one called "Old Photo Booth".  The young man on the left is our son at a restaurant.  Little did he know that I was going to turn him into the fella on the right.  I think that is suppose to be a Godfather gangster look.    It is hard sometimes to line the face up with the old photo.

My next subject was our son-in-law...who gladly posed for the photo.  I turned him into a hippy professor?

These four are my hubby with various looks.  I think my favorite are the bottom two.  I crack myself up every time I look at them.

I would like to say that these are from the old photo booth...but they are my high school photos.  Dig the white glasses.  I think I should let old photo booth use these.

The one on the right is my safari look.  Out of Africa.  Or maybe Beekeeper?

I have no idea what these are.  But the one on the left looks very much like my white glasses look.
The weather has been so lousy here...and I am beyond exhausted...so I just thought I would try and give some of my readers a little laugh.
