It is the Knights of Columbus turkey legs and sandwich booth. There he is in the grey shirt. I was flabbergasted when he said they could not make enough of these turkey legs. They are Huge...and take a long time to cook. They were big sellers...which kind of shocks me...but whatever. It helps them to make the money they need to make donations for worthy causes.
While waiting for his shift to finish I strolled all around finding very little that interested me to buy. . I did think these dresses were really cute...just would not look good on my over weight body.
I am happy that these festivals draw such a big crowd and like that those who want to raise money for charity can work these and make some income for them. But I am just not into all the crafty stuff anymore. When you are our age...you just don't want to bring anything into the home anymore. We are working on getting stuff out of the doors. And all my medical expenses are leaving our wallets empty. I did go get my elbow x-rayed and it is not broken..but still hurts sometimes. I guess it will just take some time to heal.
Today Bob is directing a Golf Tournament for charity. I helped him set up this morning a little and will go back in a little while to be a hole watcher. It is relaxing to sit there on the course and do that. I kind of like it. Every year I wonder if someone else will offer to take this job over for Bob. He has been doing it for many years now. I am going to attempt to recall how many things Bob is involved in outside of his 40 plus hour paid position a week. He attends 6:15 am Mass everyday and serves with the Priest once a week. He lectures, is Eucharistic Minister, Liturgy of the Word teacher for grades 1-6 on Sunday morning at 10 o'clock Mass. Used to be on the Parish Council. Tries to keep the Church website going...even though the website itself is not easy to work with. Has been Grand Knight and District Deputy, Recorder, and Faithful Navigator for the Knights of Columbus. Serves as an Honor Guard for wakes and funerals and special church functions. Does degree installations all over Missouri. Attends many other church functions that are connected to the Knights of Columbus. Tomorrow I am attending the Legion of Mary weekly meeting and most likely will be getting involved in that. We also signed up for RCIA this year which meets once a week from September to Easter. I signed up for a Bible study 13 week course. I guess you would say if we are not here at home, we are at church or Barnes and Noble relaxing with our lattes. When I have more time later I want to give my review or thoughts about "Breaking Bad"...which I am now up to date on. I think it is a fascinating show even though it's main focus is on making meth. Something that I think has become a horrible horrible problem here in Missouri..according to the news. This show, however, does not glorify it... in my opinion. It does just the opposite. More about that later....
I may have to edit this post later...have to go for now. Forgive the incorrect wording...etc.
