Merry Christmas!

Icing a Happy Birthday cake to Jesus.  Wish I had more time or desire to write more posts.  Maybe I will put that on my New Years Resolution list.

A Few Updates

Maddie experienced her first Country Fair last weekend.  She seemed to really enjoy it.  It was pretty hot outside so we stayed inside most of the time.  Katy and Brian worked a booth for a few hours.

We were in the cafeteria for awhile and Maddie showed us where she ate her lunch.  She sits at the peanut free table because she is till allergic to peanuts.  She said having us all there was like having the "adults come to school day ".  She is doing so well at school.  Very friendly and has learned to read already in just 2 short months.  She got her first award for being a "Good Listener".  I get to pick her up off and on depending on Brian and Katy's schedule.

The day before the fair was Caleb's 3rd birthday Party.  It was held at Theis Pumpkin Patch.  Getting photos at the party table was difficult but I managed to get this one.  Caleb is the grandson of my friend Linda who I worked with at Wee Ones for a few years.  Our daughters became friends and went to Truman State together and later became room mates and Maid of Honor in each others weddings.  He hasn't attended a pre-school yet.  Grandma and been caring for him.  I haven't seen Linda since we became Grandmas.  We used to try and get together every so often for lunch or whatever...but we have been extra busy since our little ones arrived.  Now we see each other at Caleb's Birthday parties.

This is Hannah and Maddie and Kayla.  Hannah is the daughter of Amber Peterson who went to school with Katy at Sacred Heart and Duchesne High.

Kayla....the little actress.  She hears music and starts to move.  She is a singer and dancer!

Brave Maddie.  Zip lining over and over.  She loves outdoor activities.

After a few walks around I wanted to join this guy for a nap.

My babies greeted me when they saw me at the party.
They made it to the top!

My Handsome Husband

What a lucky woman I am to have such a physically fit handsome hubby.

Doing some arm pushups on the ledge.

Love this guy!

September Sewing

We delivered a baby quilt I made for Penny's grandson who is due to be born the end of November.  I made this from Mike's shirts.  Before I did this....I had not done very much sewing at all for the past few years.  I was a little unsure of myself...so I talked to Mike here and there and asked him for some help.  He came through for me because it turned out pretty well.  Some of his shirts they wanted me to use were stretchy polos and I had to use an interfacing to keep them from getting out of shape as they were sewn together with other very thin fabrics and some thicker ones.  The pattern is one that Penny picked out from a magazine called "What Goes Around...Comes Around".  I think she really liked the name because she was thinking about her son being a stinker when he was little.

I wanted to get a photo of Bob with them because Mike was a good friend of Bob's.  He passed away 7 years ago.

I have regained a little confidence and want to continue sewing Maddie's quilt I started several years ago.  And then make one for Kayla.

Lake of the Ozarks Vacation

We had a very nice vacation this year at the Lake of the Ozarks.  Brian and Katy and the girls joined us at a condo we rented for a few days.  The weather was perfect.  No one got  sunburned and I hope everyone had a good time.  I was my usual "overly tired" self which put a damper on things for me personally....but I hope it didn't affect anyone else.

Beautiful scenery of some of the condos and homes along the lake.  I hope they don't mind photos and me posting them here.  They are probably used to everyone taking photos and looking at their beautiful property.    I remember when Bob and I went to Lake Barclay in Kentucky there were similar homes along the lake.

This home looked fairly new and very large!

I loved this view of the dock right by our condo!

These may have been taken on Saturday when there were more boaters out.  We rented a boat on Friday and the lake wasn't terribly crowded that day.

The water really comforts me for some reason.  I love being there and just watching all the boaters.

Here is Bob with Katy and Maddie and Kayla.

This looks like one that I took as it was getting darker outside.

Brian drove the boat most of the time for the 2 hours we had it.  I drove for a little while.

Love this one!  Brian is the Captain and Maddie the First Mate.  She said..."Full steam ahead!"

I really love this photo also.  It looks a little European.

Grandpa got his share of hugs over the weekend.

These photos are a little out of order....oh well.  We played miniature golf on Saturday.

Grandpa and Maddie share some time on the balcony on Saturday morning.

Awwww....back to the golf photos.  Brian helping Kayla.

I think kids had fun.  I think this may have been their first time playing...not sure.

Maddie kept wanting me to cheer like it was a baseball game.  I told her golf was a quiet game.

A few photos at the end when they got their pirate hats.  They love to make faces when they get their photo taken....and or...pose like models sometimes.
